Reyhana Mahomed: Communications Manager

Lyndi expertly carries out the role of Digital Communications Practitioner at the CSIR – a role that has evolved significantly over the years. Lyndi led the establishment of the CSIR’s digital and social presence and worked diligently at growing and expanding that presence. With a keen understanding of corporate social presence and the CSIR’s brand persona, Lyndi quickly learnt how to leverage the built-in features of social platforms to grow the organisation’s reach and engagement- and exceeded industry benchmarks!

I am particularly impressed by Lyndi’s flexibility when it comes to her evolving role as the only Digital Communications Practitioner at the CSIR. She has managed the appointment and contracting of a live stream and recording service provider for the CSIR Conference in 2022, which amounted to approximately 15 hours of live streaming and over 50 hours of simultaneous session recordings. Lyndi’s role in managing this vital aspect of the conference was seamless. As the Conference project Manager, I found Lyndi extremely easy to work with. She single-handedly managed this service provider from contracting, set-up and dry-runs, ensuring quality control over the two days, to ensuring the videos are appropriately packaged and aligned to the CSIR’s corporate identity, and following up on invoicing and payment.

As the custodian of the CSIR’s digital communication platforms, Lyndi has developed multiple event and project-based websites both as an extension of the CSIR’s website and working with an external service provider. Her designs are superior when it comes to use of space, user experience and functionality.

Lyndi is a great team member, always willing to step it up and go the extra mile. She gets along very well with her colleagues and stakeholders alike. Her drive and team spirit would add value to any team, and I look forward to seeing where the future takes her.
